Rep. Kingston likens unemployment standoff to B-Ball

I am continually amazed and confounded at the political tacks and statements from our Congressional leaders during a time when people are facing the loss of their unemployment benefits just in time for the holiday season.  Niiiiiice.

Many will liken politics to sports, but this is not the time to be playing or using such analogies.  I personally, have taken a hiatus from the diatribes and taunts for the past few months, only to be sucked back into the schism by Wikileaks (which is very entertaining to say the least).   I decided to pop on "Hardball" to hear possibly the latest analysis about Wiki.  Alas, I caught the tail end of Chris's interview with Rep. Anthony Weiner and Rep. Richard Kingston regarding the threatened Republican filibuster.  As I watched, it was your basic tit-for-tat regarding the current situation, but what took me aback was his likening of holding unemployment extensions along with other agenda items, to the final minutes of a basketball game.  Gentlemanly, Rep. Weiner apologized for Kingston's crass comment.

To frame his argument within the same context of the severe implications of losing benefits for millions is exactly the pinnacle of grotesqueness being displayed by our congressional leaders today.

To view this statement and exchange, it's around the 10:00 minute mark of the segment from "Hardball"

Let them filibuster...take the heat on the unemployment expiration, and let the chips fall where they may.  Now, back to Wikileaks and the awaited leaked banking docs.  Now that folks, is fun stuff.
